Are you an enthusiastic Senior Speech Pathologist looking to join a dynamic Allied Health team in a leadership role The successful applicant will have the opportunity to experience a varied clinical caseload across the acute setting whilst supporting and leading the team.
About the role
Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Senior Speech Pathologist to join our Allied Health team on a part-time basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care is provided.
Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art 339-bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.
With 22 operating theatres Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including but not limited to 24/7 Emergency Care Medical Services Orthopaedics Bariatrics Neurosurgery Plastic Surgery ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) General Surgery Obstetrics Cardiac Care and Oncology.

As a Senior Speech Pathologist your responsibilities will include:
Assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders in accordance with evidence-based practice
rovision of counselling and education regarding communication and swallowing disorders to patients families and staff
Participation in quality improvement activities
Provision of clinical supervision to junior Speech Pathology team members and undergraduate students as required
Work collaboratively with patients carers and members of the multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared goals
Demonstrate professional ethical and respectful behaviour and teamwork at all times in accordance with our core values and the Healthscope code of conduct.
Selection Criteria:
Bachelor of Speech Pathology
Previous acute hospital experience Minimum of 3 years
Membership to Speech Pathology Australia
Video fluoroscopy and tracheostomy management experience essential
Non-ventilator tracheostomy training & experience
Exceptional time management and communication skills
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
