We are seeking Urdu Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Urdu is a priority South Asian language frequently requested in immigration and asylum cases.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Urdu English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews hearings and official proceedings.
Interpret with accuracy neutrality and professionalism in immigration legal and administrative contexts.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance standards.
Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Urdu and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration legal healthcare or government preferred).
Familiarity with interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural awareness.
Excellent telephone communication and ability to remain accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
