Accounts Payable and Receivable Lead

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable and Receivable Lead for our shared service center in Barcelona to cover for a pregnancy leave of one of our leads. The center delivers high quality Finance support services for Americold operations across Europe. By leveraging best practices and technology we aim to create a collaborative environment that fosters growth and development. This role is critical to support Americolds growth across all Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
o Lead mentor and develop a team of accounts payable and receivable professionals within the SSC.
o Set clear performance goals and KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
o Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture focused on service excellence and employee retention.
Operational Oversight Process Improvement & Automation
o Oversee end-to-end Accounts Payable and Receivable processes including invoice processing payment runs cash application collections and reconciliations.
o Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions in accordance with company policies and service level agreements (SLAs).
o Manage month-end and year-end closing activities related to AP and AR.
o Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
o Support the Oracle implementation team with recurring and non-recurrent tasks by providing resources within the team and overseeing deliverables.
Stakeholder Engagement & reporting
o Act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders (e.g. Finance Procurement Sales) and external partners (e.g. vendors customers).
o Resolve escalated issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
o Provide regular reporting and analysis on AP/AR performance ageing and cash-flow.
Key Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field; Masters or professional certification (e.g. CPA ACCA) is a plus
Previous strong experience in AP/AR management preferably within a shared service center of multinational environment
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent analytical problem solving and communication skills
Fluency in Spanish and English.
