Life Safety Systems (LSS) Designer
Overview
Join a team that designs and delivers complex high-performance facilities that power the core of our clients businesses. Were seeking a Life Safety Systems (LSS) Designer to support the design and coordination of advanced life safety systems for industrial and high-tech environments.
The ideal candidate will be located in TX OR AZ or PA though qualified applicants across the U.S. will be considered. Youll collaborate with multi-discipline engineers and design leads using AutoCAD and Revit MEP to develop coordinated 3D BIM models that support the layout and design of systems such as:
- Fire Alarm Detection and Voice Evacuation Systems
- Hazardous Production Materials (HPM) Leak Detection
- Toxic Gas Management Systems
- Security and Intrusion Detection Systems
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed designs and layouts for Life Safety Systems using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Coordinate 3D model space with architects engineers and other disciplines to ensure integration across all systems.
- Support the delivery of complex life safety design packages from concept through construction documentation.
- Apply relevant codes and standards to ensure designs meet safety regulatory and client requirements.
- Collaborate with design leads and project managers to maintain schedule scope and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD experience(Revit experience strongly preferred).
- Experience designing systems such as Fire Alarm Voice Evacuation Gas Detection VESDA Access Control and CCTV.
Preferred Qualifications
- 35 years of Life Safety Systems design experience.
- Working knowledge of IFC IBC NFPA 70 NFPA 72 and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
- Familiarity with Fire/Life Safety systems and major manufacturers equipment.
- Industrial or high-tech facility design experience.
- Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or equivalent drafting technology certification.
