About the GBD Fellowship Program
TheGlobal Burden of Disease (GBD) Fellowshipis a prestigious cohort-based program at IHMEat the University of Washington. Launching in 2026 this inaugural fellowship cohortis designed to cultivate the next generation of health metrics scientists who will tackle the worlds most pressing health challenges through innovative research and data analysis.
We areseekingintellectually curious analytically skilled and mission-driven individuals committed to the field of health metrics and advancingitsresearch and methodologies. Ideal candidates will bringexpertisefrom fields such as public health epidemiology biostatistics economics or quantitative social sciences and willdemonstratea strong commitment to improving global health through rigorous data analysis and methodological innovation.
As a GBD Fellow you will be embedded within IHMEs interdisciplinary research teams whereyou will receive extensivetrainingandyour work will directly contribute to the production of GBD estimates and related scientific is a two-year fellowship with the possibility of a third year subject to annual renewal based on performance andavailabilityof structure is designed to support long-term professional growth and prepare fellows for impactful careers in academia research and global health policy.
Key Responsibilities

Total appointment in postdoctoral title not to exceed 5 years including postdoctoral experience(s) at other institutions. Annual salary for this fellowship is: $105000 (Year 1); $108156 (Year 2); $112488 (Year 3). Anticipated start date is September 2026
