Reading Specialist- Long Term Sub

Old Rochester Regional School District is seeking an innovative and collaborative part-time Reading Specialist Teacher for Sippican Elementary in Marion MA. This position is a Long Term Sub position for the remainder of : In collaboration with classroom teachers and administration uses assessment data to identify students who are not making adequate progress and are in need of intervention and subsequent progress monitoring. Provides reading instruction and intervention for children who are identified for additional support and services. Conducts progress monitoring and supports colleagues in understanding and responding to students growth data. Employs a variety of instructional techniques to ensure student learning engagement growth and achievement. Supports the development of phonemic awareness and phonics: principles knowledge and instructional practices. Responsively adjusts instruction for individual students based upon analysis of literacy assessment data and offers strategies to colleagues to employ in the classroom. Uses appropriate programs materials and technology for reading instruction that align with District priorities curriculum practices and resources. Serves as a consultant and resource for classroom teachers in terms of administering assessments selecting reading materials and planning instruction. Implements pedagogy and practices to support classroom teachers and other service providers in the improvement of reading instruction including consultation coaching and professional learning and development. Participates in Instructional Support Team and Special Education Team meetings with attention to childrens strengths and challenges in literacy/language arts. Communicates with parents/guardians colleagues and counselors about the progress of individual students. Attends and participates in regularly scheduled meetings and professional learning throughout the school year for literacy/language arts teachers from across the district.
