We are seeking Pashto (also spelled Pushtu) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support USCIS. Pashto is a critical-need language for asylum refugee and immigration cases making this role essential for contract success.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Pashto English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers applicants and stakeholders.
Interpret accurately and impartially across legal immigration and administrative contexts.
Adhere to USCIS/DHS confidentiality and compliance standards.
Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent requests.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and QA audits.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Pashto (Pushtu) and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration legal medical or government preferred).
Knowledge of interpreter ethics and standards (NCIHC ATA RID).
Strong communication and cultural competency skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 security clearance.
