The State of Montanas Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Supervisor to lead the Central Processing Section within the Water Rights Bureau located in Helena MT. The Compliance Supervisor ensures all water rights processes and procedures overseen are conducted in full compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements supporting Montanas land and water resources now and in the future.

Essential Functions (Major Duties and Responsibilities)
As the Central Processing Supervisor you will:
Supervise train and mentor staff; assign and review work and conduct performance evaluations.
Oversee and coordinate water rights processing procedures including permit petitions public notice issuance and management of comments or objections in compliance with Montana Code Annotated and Administrative Rules.
Develop clarify and maintain procedures and templates for accurate processing and department decisions.
Manage the Water Rights Notification tool and collaborate on process automation.
Coordinate cross-functional projects and maintain critical departmental records and spreadsheets.
Lead the hiring process propose and deliver training programs and foster a collaborative team environment.
Represent the department at conferences lead special projects and contribute to recruitment budgeting legislative and public relations activities.
Ensure compliance with all relevant policies statutes procedures and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
Alternative combinations of the education and experience listed below will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Bachelors degree in a relevant field is preferred
3 to 4 years of related work experience (additional experience may substitute for some education).
2 years of successful supervisory experience including hiring performance management managing workload promotions discipline and terminations.
