Job Summary

Position: Database Administrator
Location: Alexandria VA
Work Environment: Hybrid
Clearance Required: Top Secret
Status: Contingent Upon Contract Award

Knowesis is seeking a Database Administrator to manage and maintain DoD OIGs enterprise databases ensuring secure efficient and reliable data operations. This role supports day-to-day administration user support and production deployment across multiple environments.

To be eligible for this position candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the positions security clearance requirements.

The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Administer and maintain database systems ensuring uptime and performance
Create and manage user accounts roles and permissions
Perform routine maintenance backups and restores
Troubleshoot database issues and respond to service requests
Support data imports exports and reporting functions
Ensure compliance with DoD data governance and security policies
Document procedures and maintain operational runbooks

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science or a related field. An Associate degree with 5 years of relevant experience may be considered
3 years of experience in database administration
Proficiency in SQL and database tools (e.g. SSMS Oracle Enterprise Manager)
Understanding of DoD cybersecurity and access control standards
Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Database Administrator Associate or Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate
