THE POSITION
The Electric Utility Intern plays a supportive role in Moreno Valley Utilitys engineering and operations contributing to the development of engineering plans for distribution system improvement projects. This entry-level internship involves assisting with engineering studies and engineering design such as drafting performing calculations and power quality studies mapping and designing electrical systems such as electric vehicle charging stations energy storage systems and distribution system improvements under supervision. The intern helps uphold MVUs operational standards and ensures alignment with city policies and regulatory requirements. Success in this role requires attention to detail strong communication skills and a willingness to learn systems and enterprise software in a dynamic utility environment.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for the Electric Utility Intern position is a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual pursuing studies in engineering or a related field. The candidate excels in fast-paced environments and is dedicated to learning and contributing to MVUs mission of delivering reliable and transparent service as well as innovative and efficient design. They demonstrate strong analytical skills attention to detail and a commitment to public service. Familiarity with utility power systems AutoCAD GIS or energy policy is a plus. Candidates should be eager to learn collaborate with professionals and contribute to meaningful projects that impact the Moreno Valley community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and be currently enrolled in a college Masters Degree level program.
