Position Purpose:
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for backing up shipping receiving and materials supply functions ensuring timely safe and efficient operations of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
- Must provide backup for receiving materials components and packaging through Incoming Quality Assurance as necessary.
- Assist in putting away released products from the Incoming Quality Assurance quarantine area.
- Communicate potential shortages to Supply Chain and Production.
- Maintain neat and orderly warehouse and staging areas.
- Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment including but not limited to forklift pallet jack and handcart.
- Maintain proper documentation for materials including batches material changes and material locations.
- Load and unload trucks and move materials within the warehouse and/or between the two buildings when needed.
- Assist in maintain inventory accuracy.
- Assist in physical inventory and preform cycle counts if needed.
- Must provide backup preparing items for shipping.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meeting specifications when needed.
- Prepare packing lists and bills of lading when needed.
- Provide backup to ensure all scrap procedures are being adhered to.
- Work the scrap company to ensure timely pickup/drop off scrap trailers.
- Maintain tools and components needed to preform task per current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Follow all safety procedures including the use of PPE as required.
- Support lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide recommendations on process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Position Requirements:
- Use the companys ERP software for inventory entry and stock out.
- Maintain good relations with all plant departments
- Strong math reading and communication skills required.
- Certified to operate fork truck pallet jack and other material handling equipment.
- Able to frequently lift up to 55 lbs.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience in inventory best practices.
- Great organizational skills.
- Computer skills including Microsoft application required and SAP experience preferred.
- Must be a team player.
- Commitment to getting the task done.
