Media & Communications Manager

Were seeking a media and communications expert skilled in leading teams managing media and reputational issues for a high-profile organisation and delivering strategic campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences. The role

Manage and coordinate responses to a breadth of media enquiries across the portfolio
Lead the delivery of communications and media initiatives that support the rollout of planning policy infrastructure and housing programs across NSW.
Lead go-to market campaigns across a variety of channels
Shape how the Department engages with the public media and stakeholders through compelling storytelling proactive media advice and integrated campaign delivery.
Manage messaging across digital platforms ensuring consistency clarity and alignment with government priorities.
Navigate sensitive issues and tight deadlines with confidence.
Provide stakeholders with trusted leadership and strategic direction in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:

Ability to craft clear compelling narratives across traditional and digital channelsincluding EDMs social media and web.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience advising senior executives and working closely with Ministerial offices.
Confidence in managing media enquiries and engaging with journalists under tight deadlines.
Skill at balancing competing priorities while leading high-performing teams
A strategic mindset with the ability to plan prioritise and deliver high-impact communications in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative leadership style that supports team development and drives continuous improvement.

Essential requirements:

Willingness and ability to be on call as required outside of normal working hours.
Tertiary qualifications in communications media journalism or related discipline and/or relevant extensive experience.
