The IgA-GD Research Fellowship is a full-time 1-year paid program offering in-depth training in clinical research outcomes analysis and healthcare innovation related to IgA Nephropathy and other glomerular diseases. Fellows will work within Mayo Clinics Glomerular Disease Clinic Faculty and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts.
Program Goals
Advance patient-centered research in IgA Nephropathy and Glomerular Disease
Master clinical research methods grant writing and data presentation.
Implement AI tools to enhance clinical and pathological data extraction.

Mentorship & Structure:Mentored by Shane Bobart MD FASNDirector of the IgA-GD Fellowship with biweekly check-ins collaborative research team meetings and structured feedback. Fellows are integrated into the IgA-GD research team and will have clear deliverables and growth milestones.
Deliverables & Output
Lead/co-author 2 peer-reviewed publications
Submit at least 1 national/regional abstract
Conduct 2 original research projects
Apply AI/NLP tools to GN data & biopsy registries
MD or equivalent (medical school graduate) Passed USMLE Step 1 &2
Strong interest in nephrology AI in medicine or glomerular disease research
Prior US clinical clerkship clinical research and statistical expertise and first author publications will be highly considered.
