ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

THE ROLE

The Economic Development Intern will help maintain and update business databases and economic indicators. They will support the development of marketing and communication materials such as business outreach emails reports and presentations. Interns will also participate in outreach to local businesses and stakeholders through surveys interviews or networking events.

Pay Considerations
The hourly pay for this position is $15 - $19 (based on education level).

Work Schedule
This position is scheduled to work up to 25 hours weekly between Monday and Thursday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Part-Time/Temporary Position

This position is a part time/temporary position and does not include health or medical benefits.
Hours for this position will not exceed 935 per calendar year (see weekly hours for this position under work schedule).

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate would have excellent communication and interpersonal skills the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail. The ideal candidate should also have an Interest in community development local government and economic policy.

Fluency in Spanish or another language is desired.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Current enrollment in any of the following degree programs: BusinessFinance Economics Urban Planning or a related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution
Current enrollment with a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (undergraduate level) or 3 credit hours per semester (graduate level)
Recent College Graduates are encouraged to apply
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
A valid Nevada drivers license

SELECTION PROCESS
