Shrewsbury Public Schools Posted: October 15 2025 Closed: October 28 2025 Employment Opportunity: Oak Middle School POSITION: LTS Special Education Team Chair 0.5 FTE2025-2026 School Year Shrewsbury Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Special Education Team Chair for Oak Middle School. This position is accountable for facilitating the special education team evaluation process. Responsibilities include the coordination of assessments scheduling and facilitating meetings (e.g. initial annual and re-evaluation meetings) and the development of the Individualized Educational Plan. Retirees with Team Chair Experience are encouraged to apply. This 0.5 FTE position will be paid at the daily substitute rate of $280/day and will be prorated to $140/day for half days. Key Responsibilities also include: Responsible for working with members of the team to ensure that students with special needs are educated in the least restrictive environment Responsible for coordinating the process of referrals evaluations eligibility and development of the Individualized Educational Program Allocates district resources during the team process Responsible for ensuring students with special needs have access to the general education curriculum Responsible for sharing knowledge of available resources with other team members Responsible for collecting and maintaining data on students with special needs as required by state and federal regulations for the school yearand extended school year (position works the standard 184 day teacher school year) Responsible for communicating with parents school staff and community agencies as part of the team process and in monitoring individual students Responsible for working with direct service providers to ensure that all services delineated on the Individualized Educational Program are coordinated delivered and monitored Responsible for assisting the Director in monitoring compliance with state and federal regulations. Qualifications: Licensure by Massachusetts D.E.S.E. in the field of special education Minimum of three years work experience in the field of special education Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the team referral process Strong organization and communication skills Efficient time management skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to work thoughtfully and effectively with a variety of teams Strong conflict management skills This is a half-time (0.5) position and reports to the Director of Middle School Special Education.
