Job Summary

Job Summary:

The HR Generalist will serve as the on-site human resources representative for the Johnstown branch supporting day-to-day HR operations and ensuring alignment with company-wide HR strategies and compliance standards. This role will act as a resource for employees and managers on a wide range of HR matters including recruitment onboarding employee relations compliance benefits and performance management.

Essential Job Functions:

Provides administrative and clerical support to Human Resources department including but not limited to recruiting onboarding employee/labor relations compensation benefits training etc.

Assist with records of personnel transactions such as hires promotions transfers performance reviews and terminations.

Serve as the on-site HR representative and liaison between the Johnstown facility and Maryland HQ.

Support employee relations ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.

Manage new hire orientation and off boarding processes.

Provide guidance on HR policies labor laws and best practices.

Coordinate employee training development and performance review processes.

Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.

Support compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations

Assist with safety initiatives and workers compensation reporting as needed.

Other Job Functions:

Champion employee engagement and foster a respectful inclusive workplace.

Requirements

Qualifications/Education:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field preferred.

35 years of progressive HR experience preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently with guidance from a remote HR team

Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity Deltek Costpoint) and Microsoft Office Suite

PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally will need to lift/and or move up to 10 lbs.

Occasional Travel may be required.

This is largely a sedentary role; This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
