Purchasing Manager

A private organization is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations supplier sourcing and vendor relationship management. Objectives of the Role

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Identify evaluate and select suppliers based on quality reliability and sustainability.
  • Negotiate favorable contracts and terms with suppliers to support business objectives.
  • Partner with internal teams to align procurement goals with organizational priorities.
  • Conduct market analysis to stay current with trends supplier capabilities and pricing.
  • Manage supplier relationships monitor performance and resolve issues proactively.
  • Oversee inventory levels and demand planning to maintain optimal stock levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement procurement systems and tools to streamline operations.

  • Source and negotiate with new and existing suppliers evaluating their performance regularly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast needs and develop procurement plans.
  • Analyze inventory consumption trends and demand forecasts to optimize stock.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and continuously improve procurement processes.
  • Prepare and present performance and cost analysis reports to leadership.

  • Develop metrics to track procurement performance and sourcing effectiveness.
  • Promote sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement management.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles strategies and systems.

  • Proven experience managing supplier relationships and contracts.

  • Demonstrated success in cost optimization and negotiation.

  • Strong analytical communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement-related regulations and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in a related field.

  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management.

  • Experience mentoring or leading procurement teams.

  • Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools.

  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills.
