We are seeking a talented individual to join our Accounting Operations team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Urbandale Iowa. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Staff Accountant I (Revenue Recognition) will be part of a collaborative and fast-paced environment supporting stakeholders from various MMC entities. This role offers an excellent training plan and the opportunity to add value as a key contributor to the team.
We will count on you to:
- Prepare review and analyze various accounting reports including variances billing and other statements; may ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Assist with the development implementation and documentation of internal and external accounting and operating policies procedures and process improvements for general accounting functions.
- Address inquiries from stakeholders across multiple lines of business.
- Partner with team members to develop process efficiencies.
- Perform reconciliation reviews.
- Interact with various internal stakeholders including Controllers & Financial Planning.
- Review system enhancements and upgrades to understand their function.
- Review documentation for proper revenue recognition criteria.
- Complete quality assurance reviews on fee and commission revenue for proper accounting treatment.
What you need to have:
- Associates degree in finance or accounting.
- Proficient with MS Excel.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.

- Experience with Oracle.
