Possible Thesis Topics

We are looking for motivated HBO (Logistics Management/Engineering) and WO (Supply Chain Management) students who want to write their thesis with us and contribute to real-world challenges in logistics and supply chain. The thesis can be written both in Dutch and English. Depending on your study background and level (HBO or WO) this is what your research question could look like:

For HBO students:

• How can Yokogawa optimize its inbound logistics processes to reduce lead times and improve supplier reliability across its European operations

• What are the most effective strategies for implementing sustainable packaging and transportation solutions in Yokogawas logistics operations without increasing total logistics costs

• How can data-driven decision-making (e.g. AI predictive analytics) improve inventory management and demand forecasting accuracy in Yokogawas supply chain

For WO students:

• How can Yokogawa leverage digital twin technology to enhance real-time visibility and resilience in its logistics network

• What is the impact of multi-echelon inventory optimization on service levels and working capital in Yokogawas European supply chain

• How can Yokogawa design a supply chain control tower to improve decision-making and coordination across its global logistics operations

Who are we looking for

• You are an HBO or WO student in Logistics Supply Chain Management or related field.

• You are available to start in January 2026 for a duration of 5 to 6 months.

• You have strong analytical skills and an interest in applying theory to practice.

• You are motivated to explore how communication integration resiliency and geopolitical changes shape the supply chain of tomorrow.
