The RoadSense Analytics (RSA) project is a next-generation video analytics platform for traffic analysis built on more than seven years of continuous R&D. Backed by the AEA Innovate Grant we are now taking this pioneering Australian research into its most exciting phase: bringing advanced AI to market through a secure scalable cloud-native Software as a Service (SaaS) platform.

You will join a small agile team of a solution architect a UX/UI designer a frontend-focused full-stack developer and AI/ML researchers working in close collaboration to bring breakthrough computer vision models to market. Together we are building the secure high-performance backend infrastructure that makes advanced AI usable at scale.

About the opportunity

• Lead backend development of a scalable secure multi-tenant video analytics platform including APIs data pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the Solution Architect to shape and evolve backend architecture gradually taking on more architectural responsibilities.
• Deliver robust backend services integrating real-time AI/ML inference supporting DevOps practices and ensuring smooth cross-team collaboration.

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science Software Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of backend development experience in Python or Go.
• Demonstrated experience contributing to software/system architecture in SaaS or data platforms.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP) and infrastructure provisioning.
• Strong knowledge of API development authentication/authorisation (e.g. JWT OAuth2) and cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices CI/CD and container orchestration.

Note: Occasional interstate or international travel may be required.
