Required Qualifications
- 1-4 years of work experience in mechanical assembly or related field
- Proficiency in automotive maintenance
- Strong skills in mechanical assembly
- Expertise in using hand and power tools
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings schematics and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Assembly:
- Assemble mechanical components subassemblies and final products according to specifications and quality standards
- Follow detailed work instructions assembly drawings and engineering specifications
- Ensure proper fit alignment and function of assembled parts
- Perform basic machining operations as needed such as drilling tapping and deburring
- Use various hand tools power tools and specialized equipment in the assembly process
- Quality Control:
- Conduct visual and functional inspections of assembled components and products
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Identify and report any defects discrepancies or quality issues
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and assembly efficiency
- Automotive Maintenance:
- Apply automotive maintenance knowledge to assembly processes and troubleshooting
- Assist in maintaining and repairing assembly equipment and tools
- Provide insights on improving assembly processes based on automotive maintenance experience
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of completed assemblies quality checks and any issues encountered
- Document assembly procedures and contribute to the development of work instructions
- Report daily progress and any production challenges to supervisors
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with team members engineers and other departments
- Participate in team meetings
