To be successful as our new PAL Coordinator you will:
- Have a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
- Design and implement innovative cognitive and physical exercise programs for residents both individuals and in groups
- Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure resident goals are met
- Be familiar with completing resident transfer assessments
- Collaborate with external partners in order to provide exceptional service to our residents
- Provide leadership and supervision of Kinesiology Co-Op placements Students and Volunteers who assist with the PAL program
- Facilitate education sessions such as lift & transfer body mechanics active living
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents families and team members
- Understand the physical mental and emotional demands of the role
It would be an asset if our new PAL Coordinator has:
- Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
- Knowledge of relevant policies procedures legislation regulations and best practices a Experience and/or desire to provide educational sessions/ seminars
- Demonstratedexperience working with seniors and/or persons with cognitive or physical impairments
- Experience working in the retirement and long-term care sector (e.g.. School placement)
