Job Summary
Job Title: Tooling Technician
Location: Salem NH
Purpose of Position:
The Tooling Technician is responsible for managing the lifecycle of tooling assets used in the molding and assembly of ballistic helmets at the Cleveland facility. This includes oversight of the tooling database assembly and maintenance of tools asset tracking and reporting and coordination with internal and external partners. The role ensures tooling availability quality and where applicable compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) contractual requirements enabling consistent high-quality helmet production and supporting operational readiness.
This position is closely aligned with the companys SIOP (Sales Inventory & Operations Planning) process to anticipate upcoming demand and ensure a proactive pipeline of tooling. The technician will support surge capacity needs by preparing tooling for shipment to other facilities enabling distributed processing and manufacturing as required.
Essential duties and/or Functions: (Essential Functions/basic job duties that must be able to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation)
In-house tooling inventory management including tooling approvals managing wear limits and tooling availability
New tooling requiring procurement through machine shop
Government-approved tooling via the ECP (Engineering Change Proposal) process aligned with DoD program requirements
Tooling requiring ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) approval
Assemble and complete tooling.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on tooling assets.
Manage tooling storage labeling and location tracking.
Replace worn or damaged components and support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives.
Support tooling needs for helmet assembly operations ensuring availability and readiness of jigs fixtures and specialized tooling.
Laser scan tools to verify compliance with design intent.
Treat tooling as capital assets with monthly reporting on tooling status and condition and assets requiring write-off
CapEx control and forecasting

Required Minimum Qualifications: (Minimum/Basic level of qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of the position i.e. education

High school diploma or technical certification in machining manufacturing or related field.
3 years of experience in tooling CNC operations or asset management.
Familiarity with ERP/MES (Tulip preferable) systems and tooling databases.

Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
3 years of experience in tooling CNC operations or asset management.

Hands-on experience with tool assembly maintenance and TPM practices.
Experience with tool measurement or optical scanning

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Salem NH is $56160 to 68640 annually. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job type and years of experience within the industry education etc.
