Job Summary

What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for an entry-level engineer or scientist for their El Centro office. You should have a desire to make a positive impact on the environment by working on Air quality Monitoring Meteorological Sensors GIS systems data logging and communication systems and other Environmental service projects. You should love doing research and technical writing but also enjoy rolling up your sleeves and doing field work. You will split your time between the office and field. Field work will initially be approximately 50-75 percent of the time.

How you can make an impact

  • Record data during field work which could include but is not limited to: soil characteristics sensor data meteorological data geospatial data calibration forms photographs or summaries of visual observations through photograph and written field logs in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Utilize ArcGIS Field Maps or equivalent software to collect and review data while working in the field.
  • Prepare basic ArcGIS Site Maps.
  • Prepare site identification reports and/or regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation as requested.
  • Prepare environmental assessment/ monitoring reports including tabulated data charts graphs sketches and/or figures.
  • Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites including: soil air surface water and groundwater.
  • Coordinate with contractors subcontractors and clients as directed.
  • Prepare reports such as: Air Monitoring Reports odor sampling reports Soil Management Plan Dust Control Plan environmental site assessment emission groundwater and compliance reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Geology Engineering or Physical Sciences required.
  • Minimum of 3 months of relevant environmental and/or engineering internship work and/or project research experience required.
  • Valid Drivers License with a driving record in good standing required.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER certification not required but preferred.

Pay Range

USD $68640.00 - USD $70500.00 /Yr.
