Job Summary
Mainland is hiring! We are looking for askilled Labourerto join our Energy team.
The Mainland Group of Companies is a multidisciplinary construction service provider specializing in all civil works excavation shoring and energy works such as site services residential subdivisions roads highways bridges natural gas pipelines underground utilities commercial site development and large industrial infrastructure projects.

The Opportunity
The Labourer working with our Energy team will be responsible in ensuring that the site is well organized clean tidy and that the crews have everything they need to get the job done.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
Responsible for the general maintenance and support of the Energy siteswhile working on underground natural gas line installations
digging trenching swamping sweeping packing as well as other duties as assigned
Assisting drivers in loading and unloading deliveries
Help maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues
Keeping a positive safety attitude and ensuring hazards are eliminated
Maintain quality results of work
Qualifications Experience & Skillset
Previous construction experience
Natural gas pipeline experience is a definite asset- BC Hydro underground experience
A positive attitude and a strong team mentality
First aid confined space and fall protection training is an asset
Good communications ability able to work with variety of individuals
Understand safety and how to communicate safety issues as they arise
Must be physically fit able to spend most or all of shift standing walking lifting carrying and working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
Flexible with hours worked including overtime and weekend work as needed
Willingness to learn and have a good work ethic
Support other crew members on daily site activities outside of job scope
