Job Description:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Registrar in Psychiatry to join a multidisciplinary mental health team within the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE). This role involves providing high-quality psychiatric care across inpatient outpatient and community settings depending on the service configuration.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver psychiatric assessment diagnosis and treatment to patients under consultant supervision
Participate in ward rounds outpatient clinics MDT meetings and case reviews
Liaise with GPs primary care services and community mental health teams
Contribute to care planning risk assessment and safeguarding procedures
Maintain accurate up-to-date clinical records and documentation
Participate in audit research and teaching where applicable
Take part in the on-call rota (where required)
Job requirements
Essential Requirements:
Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
At least 3 years of psychiatry experience (ideally including registrar-level experience)
MRCPsych or equivalent postgraduate qualification
Eligibility to work in Ireland (EU citizenship or appropriate visa/work permit)
Strong clinical and communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Up-to-date training in BLS Manual Handling and PMAV (or willingness to obtain)
Driving License required
Desirable:
Experience working in the Irish mental health system
Interest in teaching or academic psychiatry
