Position Overview: This position will be responsible for the preparation and filing of all external financial reporting documents including related SEC filings. The role will also be responsible for overseeing various aspects of accounting for all equity based transactions with strict deadlines on a consistent basis.
The VP of Technical Accounting & External Reporting will be expected to work on-site five days a week in our Somerset NJ office.
Key Responsibilities:
- SEC Reporting Related
- Lead the preparation of all SEC reporting including 10K 10Qs and 8Ks as required
- Prepare technical accounting memos to support the Companys accounting positions
- Coordinate with the external auditors (Grant Thornton) the review of all technical accounting memos
- Responsible for journal entries relating to:
- Stock Based Compensation
- Warrants
- Debt Bifurcation
- Lease Accounting
- Manage the Stock Compensation Administrator (SCA)
- Review all work product of the SCA
- Maintain the stock ownership schedules
- Maintain stock based compensation vesting schedules
- Primary liaison for AON
- Work with various personnel and departments to collect information and input into the above referenced reports; coordinate review and collect comments on the various drafts; prepare support files; challenge the appropriateness of disclosures; complete all relevant disclosure checklists and reporting questionnaires
- Maintain quarterly reporting time table and monitor progress against reporting cycle milestones
- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of new policies and procedures
- Monitor the development and applicability of emerging accounting and reporting rules deliberated by the SEC US GAAP PCAOB or other regulations
- Assist with establishment documentation and maintenance of company accounting policies
- Assist with month-end close and financial statement review
- Assist external auditors
- Lead the Sarbanes Oxley compliance effort including designing and testing controls
- Combination of private industry and public accounting in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced technical accounting planning designing implementing and documenting policies and procedures in a SOX environment
- XBRL tagging Work Environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- CPA required
- A minimum of 10 years (or more) of progressive accounting experience
- A minimum of 5 years (or more) of SEC reporting experience
- Ability to relate to employees and understand their needs
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check own work
- Excellent time management skills
- Task oriented excellent organizational skills ability to prioritize work load
- Enthusiastic attitude cooperative team player adaptable to new or changing circumstances professional demeanor sensitive to client needs
- High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Outlook
