Job Summary:

This position will support the Receiving and Records Supervisor in the receiving of stem cell samples. The Receiving and Records Technician in partnership with the Supervisor performs all necessary duties of the Department to its highest potential. Receiving and Records performs basic technical activities and records data. This role delivers job responsibilities following a standard output or set of procedures.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Inspect and prepare all incoming stem cell samples and maternal blood draw samples and queue them for processing-

  • Prepare maternal blood samples for shipment to the testing laboratory for infectious disease marker testing.

  • Perform Kit Tracking responsibilities including updating data in the Kit Tracking Spreadsheet and communicating via phone and email with courier services.

  • Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal policies processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Work Instructions (Wl) as weil as external regulations as determined by regulatory agencies.

  • Review own paperwork for accuracy completeness and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

  • Work in a team environment.

  • Communicate dearly in oral and written form.

  • Maintain and stay up to date with all required company donor client and employee confidentiality.

  • Maintain donor client and employee confidentiality.

  • Perform general lab cleaning and maintenance.

  • Adhere to guidelines set forth in the safety manual and understand job hazard analysis.

  • Promptly communicate safety Issues deviations from procedures anomalies and abnormalities to their Immediate Supervisor.

Administrative:

  • Maintain personnel training records to ensure they are up to date at all times.

  • Field phone calls from outside vendors and internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will have a creative and innovative approach to his or her work and will never shy away from offering frank and data driven observations and recommendations. Were looking for a highly organized methodical professional with the experience necessary to take our products to the next level in terms of safety compliance and accuracy. A proven track record of experience is essential.

Schedule/Work Hour Requirements:

  • This is an Onsite position in Tucson AZ
  • Work hours dictated by the requirements of the lab; As business needs dictate works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory overtime. Able to work mid-shifts weekends and holidays.

Exposure Risk:

  • A requirement of this role is working with blood products and tissue. Safeguards are implemented for employees to protect them from exposure to blood products and tissue.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to balance activities that require seeing listening touching and verbalizing needs.
  • Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May require frequent lifting/moving up to 25 lbs.
  • Work hours dictated by the requirements of the lab; must be flexible to work alternate schedules able to work mid-shifts weekends and holidays.
  • Responsible for monitoring work hours to avoid the accrual of overtime.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete varlables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Database software;
    Internet software; Payroll systems and Word Processing software.

Experience:

Two or more years related experience.

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
