The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor Plumbing (STEP) at the Moncton Campus. Position Type: Casual
Duration: October 2025 to February 2026
Salary Range: $33.85 to $52.08 per hour based on experience and level of post-secondary education.
What youll do
Responsibilities
You will be collaborating with and reporting to the Business Development Operations Manager School of Professional and Part-time Learning. As a member of the faculty team you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; delivering individualized instruction and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse academic needs; building and sustaining professional relationships with students colleagues community partners and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas and courses may include but may not be limited to:
- Plumbing History Code and Principles
- Tools of the Plumbing Trade
- Basic Math for Plumbing
- Water Supply Water Sources Waste Disposal and Sewage Disposal
- Mechanical Properties and Protection of Building Materials and Structures
- Piping Materials Used in Plumbing Work
- Joining Methods for DVW and Pressure Piping
- Plumbing Fixtures
- Various sprinkler systems
The successful incumbent must also be well versed in the use and interpretation of the National Plumbing Code of Canada as it relates to the above areas as well as be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.
What youll need
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Certificate of Qualification as a Journeyperson (Red Seal) in Plumbing
- A working knowledge of MS Office
- Valid WHMIS and Basic First Aid training are preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years of related recent work experience at the Journeypersons level.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment.
Professional Skills:
- Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills analytical ability and innovative thinking.
- Self-motivated service and results oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
- A desire for continuous learning and growth.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response the minimum qualifications may be raised.
