Work Arrangement:

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Burton MI on a full-time basis.

The Team:

Join the Packaging Optimization team and become part of one of the most dynamic and innovative organizations within General Motors. Our mission is to provide GM with a competitive advantage through exemplary services and solutions.

As part of the Packaging Optimization team you will be interacting with industry leaders attending cross-functional events and volunteering for community service activities. You will gain valuable work experience in one of the following areas:

• Global Aftersales Packaging Engineering

What Youll Do:

• Support the complete packaging development process including the creation of packaging designs prototype development and performance testing

• Fix new and existing packaging problems involving designs materials processes and provides creative timely and cost-effective solutions

• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to resolve physical characteristics of item special handling environmental and safety requirements and types of materials required for packaging

• Evaluate and select packaging suppliers / vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews

• Handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Works closely with global suppliers engineering product management operations and sourcing

• Participate in product introduction teams to deliver new products to market

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering or related field

• Graduating between December 2026 and June 2027

• Able to work full time 40 hours per week
