Role: Social Media Assistant (Casual)
Hours: Flexible hours based on team needs and the sporting calendar
Location: London Bridge (minimum three days a week)
talkSPORT is the worlds biggest sports radio station. From World Cups and European Championships to the Premier League and the Champions League through to Test cricket and world class boxing the talkSPORT network is at the heart of the worlds major sporting events.
Your team: The team spans several departments including editorial social audience and tech and were looking for a new Social Media Assistant to help manage and deliver the scheduling and delivery of website articles and graphics across our social channels.
Your role: Were looking for a Social Media Assistant (Casual) to join our website team. Youll help deliver content across our social media channels - posting scheduling and packaging stories graphics and videos that connect with millions of sports fans every day.
Alongside supporting our main UK-focused social channels youll also play a key role in helping to build and grow talkSPORTs new U.S. sports social accounts.
Working closely with the Social Media Editor and wider editorial team youll support the day-to-day running of our accounts ensuring talkSPORTs website content is promoted quickly accurately and creatively across platforms including Facebook X YouTube and Instagram.
This is a hands-on fast-paced role ideal for someone who lives and breathes sport and wants to kick-start a career in social or digital media.
Day to day you will:
Post and schedule stories clips and graphics across multiple social platforms.
Write sharp engaging headlines and captions that drive views engagement and conversation.
Create and crop visuals using Photoshop Canva or similar tools to support website stories.
React quickly to breaking news trending topics and live sports moments with timely platform-optimised posts.
Help monitor real-time traffic and social engagement to inform whats working.
Work collaboratively with the wider editorial and video teams to ensure content consistency across platforms.
What were looking for from you:
Strong knowledge and passion for sport with a particular interest in U.S.-centric sports.
Experience of creating content for social channels.
Understanding of what performs well across platforms such as Facebook and X.
Comfortable using Photoshop and/or possessing general graphic design skills.
Excellent spelling grammar and attention to detail.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends around key sporting events.
Able to commute into our London Bridge offices at least three times a week.
