As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Minimum Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
• Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
• Provides technical leadership and mentorship to software engineering teams fostering growth and development of junior engineers
• Defines and drives the technical vision architecture and roadmap for complex large-scale systems
• Collaborates with product owners business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Champions best practices in software engineering including code quality testing documentation and secure development
• Designs and implements scalable resilient and high-performance solutions leveraging Java Spring AWS Oracle and Postgres
• Drives adoption of DevOps practices including CI/CD infrastructure as code and automated testing
• Facilitates technical workshops knowledge sharisng sessions and code reviews to promote learning and innovation

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience in Java AWS Spring boot Terraforms
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
• Proficiency with programming languages like Java is a must SQL and and understand software development best practices
• Extensive hands-on experience in RDBMS particularly with Oracle and PostgreSQL including database design query optimization and performance tuning for efficient data management and retrieval
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Hands-on experience in AWS EC2 AWS Lambda AWS KMS AWS ECS AWS EKS AWS S3 EMR Athena SQS Event Bridge PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform & Cloud Formation etc.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Certifications in target areas (Cloud/Kubernetes/IaC etc.)
• Understanding of the Payments processing in a Bank
