As a Design Engineer in Advanced Technology Thermal Systems Design team you will be responsible for supporting thermal design of engine components such as combustor and turbine. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to development efforts in new technology projects for jet this role you will develop your knowledge and competences to identify problems find solutions and demonstrate thermal design and analytical skills.

GE Aerospace Poland is looking for mechanical engineer who wants to join the team developing a compressor for the best-in-class turboprop engine- GE Catalyst. Lead mechanical design engineer will have an opportunity to lead and execute all activities associated with the airfoils mechanical design. The role requires engineering problem solving attitude creativity accountability and ability to define goals for oneself and others. This is unique opportunity to become the member of engineering team in Poland creating the new product in aviation market and collaborating in international environment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles ofengineeringphysics andmaterials sciencefor the design analysismanufacturing and maintenance ofmechanical systems. Includes the analysis of static (structural) and dynamic (rotor dynamics vibrations) behaviour of mechanical systems

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own -depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Experience in mechanical design process of machine components

  • Knowledge of materials manufacturing methods and strength of materials

  • Experience with technical documentation (drawings 3D CAD models)

  • Strong communication skills including English language (spoken and written)

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a challenging and dynamic environment under time pressure
