The Role
The ideal candidate should possess a robust foundation in the financial services industry and a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and trends that impact this sector. This position is well-suited for an ambitious and motivated individual who is eager to engage actively in supporting the team. It entails close collaboration with FAAS (Financial Accounting Advisory Services) teams and other senior professionals within Grant Thornton as well as fostering key relationships with our client base.
Main Responsibilities
- Working with clients to enhance financial and operational functions responsibilities encompass projects associated with the financial reporting process evaluation and improvement of business processes and temporary interim staffing roles within a team setting all aimed at ensuring timely adherence to deadlines.
- Engaging with clients to assist in the preparation and assessment of financial statements in accordance with IFRS Lux GAAP and US GAAP standards.
- Establishing robust and enduring relationships with client representatives.
- Advocating for FAAS both within the organization and externally to clients and partners.
- Coordinating with auditors.
About you
- Possession of ACA/ACCA certification or an equivalent qualification recognized by IFAC (International Federation of Accountants).
- Relevant experience and expertise in the financial services industry acquired either through direct involvement or via professional practice.
- A minimum of two years of post-qualification experience (PQE) is required or alternatively three years of experience if still in the process of qualification.
- A skilled accountant with a robust understanding of IFRS and US GAAP along with a foundational knowledge of Irish GAAP and Luxembourg GAAP.
- A comprehensive grasp of accounting and regulatory mandates pertinent to the funds banking or insurance sector.
- Proficiency in computer skills including an advanced command of Microsoft Office applications.
- A proficient communicator characterized by excellent articulation adept report-writing abilities and proficiency in Excel..
