An exceptional Independent School in Peterboroughis recruiting a reflective and driven Year 2 Teacher to join its KS1 phase on a Full-Time contract commencing January 2026. This Year 2 Teacher role provides exceptional resourcing small class sizes and a structured professional development pathway in the Independent School. The successful Year 2 Teacher will begin pre-term planning before January 2026 attend full induction during January 2026 and be teaching from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 2 Teacher. The Independent School will support the Year 2 Teacher with mentoring from January 2026 and ongoing CPD after January 2026.

(Year 2 Teacher) Responsibilities what you will do
The appointed Year 2 Teacher will plan and deliver systematic phonics and guided reading as the Year 2 Teacher teach engaging writing units as the Year 2 Teacher and deliver number and problem-solving sessions as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will assess pupil progress run targeted interventions and liaise with families as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will be expected to contribute to enrichment and lead a small project in the Independent School from January 2026.

We are looking for a reflective Year 2 Teacher with QTS or equivalent strong KS1 experience and evidence of impact as a Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher should be confident with phonics formative assessment and behaviour strategies. The successful Year 2 Teacher will engage in planning prior to January 2026 attend induction in January 2026 and work full-time as a Full-Time Year 2 Teacher from January 2026.
