Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Painter to work on-site with our client a worldwide designer manufacturer and integrator of precision control components company. The Painter will apply coatings to a wide variety of component parts for military and commercial assemblies while adhering to FAA and customer quality standards.
This position is 100% on-site at the Torrance CA facility and requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. As a W2 employee you will have access to health benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Paint a wide variety of component parts for military and industrial/commercial assemblies.

  • Clean prepare and mask parts prior to painting to ensure precision and quality.

  • Determine proper paint quantities mix ratios and viscosity per job specifications.

  • Correctly interpret and follow specification requirements to meet quality and acceptance criteria.

  • Work with Production and Methods Engineering to determine fixture needs and paint handling procedures.

  • Prepare and test panels when required verifying thickness adhesion and finish characteristics.

  • Operate a variety of equipment including Ford cup viscosity checks Fischer paint thickness gauge Grieve ovens and various spray systems.

  • Log all paint activity including lot identification paint mix details pot life temperature humidity coat thickness and cure cycles.

  • Perform visual inspections to identify and correct surface imperfections.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and ensure filters tools and equipment are clean and in safe working order.

  • Maintain inventory of paints solvents and related materials.

  • Collaborate with team members and support quality inspections including military-level coating standards.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Must-Have Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant painting experience in manufacturing or aerospace environments.

  • Experience preparing masking and painting precision components.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency.

  • Familiarity with mixing ratios viscosity testing and paint measurement tools.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work standing for extended periods.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Must be able to work 2nd shift after initial training.

  • U.S. person status (required due to export-controlled work).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an FAA-regulated or military aerospace painting environment.

  • Knowledge of MIL-SPEC paint requirements and inspection procedures.

  • Familiarity with environmental controls for paint and curing processes.
