Our client a leading automotive Manufacturing company based in Durban is looking to fill the position of Industrial Engineer.
Purpose of the Role:
To provide ongoing support to the Companys customers by leading initiative to continuously improve production efficiency study new equipment technology and preparation of new product.
Key Responsibilities:
Tooling preparation and defect countermeasures management and maintenance:
- Arrangement of new business tooling (dies moulds jigs).
- Tooling and machine condition setting during production preparation.
- Correction of defects during HVT/customer events.
- Confirmation and verification of required quality when design change or defect response.
- Analyse production defects and plan and implement countermeasures.
Achieve task need to understand quality knowledge as:
- Understand all customer quality criteria and make standard.
- Understand APOP system and support for QC department.
- Deeply understand for PFMEA and control plan what is require for process (main close function team member).
- Understanding of the QA method and QC matrix by working closely with Quality department and conduct training to members.
Achieve task need to understand Engineering knowledge:
- Be able to support on the newly introduced technology equipment machine specification cycle counts and identify areas for improvements.
- Be able to understand work progress / sequence to make SOP.
- Develop new SOP based on the machine manuals and study and help to quantify number of Operators required for machines.
- Offer technical assistance to the production to meet targets goals and standards
- Physically able to work with heavy equipment reading drawings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate
- Diploma / Degree in Industrial Engineering
- 1 - 2 years experience
- Graduates / interns will be considered
- Strong knowledge of product process and quality
- Computer literate
- Basic knowledge of design and drawing
- Working experience within a manufacturing / automotive environment advantageous
