Job Summary
Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. This position involves managing and optimizing diverse client IT environments both on-premises and in the cloud. Youll be expected to balance multiple responsibilities across various clients making this role ideal for someone with a background in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
- Manage and support Active Directory Microsoft 365 Exchange Online and Azure environments.
- Provision and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware Hyper-V).
- Deploy and manage backup replication and disaster recovery solutions (e.g. Veeam Acronis).
- Conduct regular system checks patch management and performance tuning.
- Handle Level-3 escalations from the NOC and Service Desk teams.
- Participate in infrastructure projects client migrations and onboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client documentation including system configurations and access logs.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 46 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Administrator in an MSP environment.
- Strong technical expertise in Microsoft Server environments Azure AD and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with hybrid and cloud infrastructures storage systems and scripting (PowerShell/Bash).
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE Azure Administrator or VMware VCP are advantageous.
- Strong multitasking skills effective communication with clients and thorough documentation habits.
