Senior Network Engineer

The role is to ensure the overall health of the network environment.

The position is responsible for overseeing network managementincluding LAN WAN and WLANas well as WAFS F5 and related infrastructure within a dynamic environment. The role also includes handling firewall requests for systems managed by Deloitte Global Technology Services.

The role requires working within a team environment as well as independently with the emphasis on quality. As a senior team member the role requires a willingness to cross train others when necessary and to work with vendors to integrate solutions or systems.

Qualifications :

Experience Required:

• Minimum of three years experience as a Senior Network Engineer within an enterprise environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Extensive experience and understanding of Layer 2 protocols Software Defined Infrastructure VLAN technologies GWANs VPNs routing concepts application load balancers Network Access Control (NAC) wireless networks network design and implementation and Cisco secure network solutions (including Cisco ISE Cisco Spaces and Catalyst Centre).
• Proficient in working within a Microsoft environment.
• Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving WAN and LAN issues including wireless networks within a complex and fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of network security risks vulnerabilities and attack vectors.
• Working knowledge of network-based intrusions and protocol anomalies.
• Capable of analyzing system growth and providing capacity planning forecasts.
• Responsible for managing and monitoring network security across LAN and WAN endpoints.
• The job entails working standby and after-hours support for networking issues including using a personal phone to receive alerts and remain contactable by the team and management.
• Experience in cabling management (CAT6 fibre etc.).
• Responsible for daily maintenance and resolution of assigned service desk calls within agreed SLAs.
• Excellent inter personal skills at different levels within the organization.

• A (Comptia certified)
• Networking (CompTIA certified)
• CCNA
• CCNP (Enterprise)

Desired qualifications:

• CCNP (Security)
• Firewall certification (Checkpoint / Palo Alto an advantage)
• F5 Certifications
