The Finance Officer will play a pivotal role as the company’s primary financial partner collaborating closely with the Operations Director to establish and manage the financial infrastructure of a dynamic start-up holding company. The Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing accounting treasury and controllership functions. Key duties include supporting investment assessments developing financial models ensuring regulatory compliance and implementing scalable systems and processes to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
Job Description:
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with reporting requirements from SEC BIR SSS PhilHealth Pag-IBIG DOLE PEZA (as applicable) and local government units.
- Prepare and submit mandated reports and permits including CAS registration and tax filings.
- Stay informed on updates to tax and corporate regulations affecting the business.
- Recommend and deploy an accounting or ERP system tailored to the company’s growth trajectory.
- Create and implement finance-related SOPs and approval workflows to support scalability.
- Collaborate with operations and business development teams to embed financial controls into everyday processes.
- Establish and maintain the company’s accounting framework including books of accounts chart of accounts and reporting structure.
- Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping general ledger oversight and journal entry management.
- Prepare financial statements on a monthly quarterly and annual basis for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Design and enforce internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
- Liaise with external auditors tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor daily cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational requirements.
- Supervise fund disbursements with proper documentation and approval protocols.
- Manage banking relationships and negotiate favorable terms.
- Identify and evaluate investment options for excess funds in alignment with company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy Finance or a related discipline.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred; CMA or MBA is an advantage.
- At least 4 years of progressive experience in external audit finance accounting controllership or financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
- Preferably with prior exposure to start-ups holding companies or investment-focused organizations.
- Proven expertise in establishing accounting systems developing financial models and managing regulatory compliance.
- Experience in M&A due diligence and investment evaluation is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
- Advanced skills in Excel for financial modeling and scenario planning.
- Familiarity with ERP and accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Xero or NetSuite.
- Strong grasp of tax regulations SEC reporting and corporate compliance requirements.
