Customs Brokerage Regulatory Manager TCRS4581
HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Customs Brokerage Regulatory Manager oversees U.S. import and export compliance provides regulatory guidance and drives operational excellence across the organization. This role leads import programs conducts audits and supports continuous process improvement to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and government agencies rules and regulations.
This is a hybrid position with 1-2 days a week in office near Tonawanda NY.
EXPECTATIONS
- Serve as the primary advisor on customs compliance requirements restrictions trade barriers
- Provide expertise on CBP and PGAs (FDA USDA AMS APHIS FSIS) rules and regulations
- Develop and implement compliance programs risk-mitigation strategies and corrective-action plans
- Conduct audits & assessments of customs entries ensuring accuracy and adherence to trade laws
- Oversee post entry activity prior disclosures CF 28/29 refunds protests and drawback claims
- Manage onboarding of new clients compliance databases and renewal of surety bonds
- Stay up to date on import/export regulations industry trends to incorporate into trade processes
- Manage brokerage team and multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment
ESSENTIALS
- 8-10 years of experience in trade compliance and brokerage including consulting or advisory services.
- Licensed Customs Broker required
- In depth knowledge of import entry process with CBP and other government agencies
- Solid understanding with HTS Classification Country of Origin FTA Valuation methods and AD/CVD
- Proven leadership in regulatory affairs risk management and process improvement
- Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Supportive leader fostering a collaborate team culture
- Proficient in MS Office; including Excel and Access
