Clinical Assistant Pediatric and Young Adult Medicine

The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care to patients by assisting with diagnostic tests procedures and treatments ordered by the physician.

This is a full-time position working M-F between the hours of 8:30 am - 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm on a rotation. This role will be based out of our Eagan St. Paul and Maplewood locations.

Pediatric and Young Adult Medicine is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions:

• Escorts the patient to the exam room obtain vitals and document patient history.
• Performs diagnostic testing under doctor supervision as ordered by the doctor.
• Prepares room as needed for specified visit type.
• Assist providers with pre/post op appointments and procedures
• Processes referrals and schedules clinic appointments.
• Retrieves calls regarding patient health problems scheduling needs and documents and routes calls.
• Calls in new prescriptions and refills to the pharmacy after provider has reviewed and approved.
• Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent
• Diploma or equivalent as a Medical Assistant Military Medic Certified Nursing Assistant or Direct Support Professional Certifications preferred but not required
• 1 -2 years of recent medical clinic experience preferred
• Superior communication skills detail oriented and excellent direct patient care

Essential Requirements:

Ability to:

• Comply with company policies procedures practices and business ethics guidelines.
• Complete job required training.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g. HIPAA Stark OSHA employment laws etc.)
• Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
• Work in the clinic during business hours
• Travel independently throughout the clinic (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending lifting standing stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
• Work at an efficient and productive pace handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
• Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
• Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
• Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Understand and execute a variety of instructions
• Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Travel to other work locations if required
