Background

At Axis New Business audio we develop audio products for security such as horn ceiling and cabinet speakers driven by Power over ethernet (PoE). Now we want to investigate how an array speaker with a modular design could fit into our audio product portfolio. We encourage to think big going beyond the idea of the conventional line array speaker system.

Goal

The aim of this master thesis is to generate a concept design of a modular array speaker system which could fit into Axis Network Audio product portfolio. The thesis aims to broadly research and explore how such a modular speaker system can be designed generate concepts and narrow down the alternatives to a final concept suggestion.

The project will focus on how individual speaker units (functional building blocks) can be combined mechanically to form a modular array speaker system. The thesis will also focus on the physical design of overall the array system as well as relevant audio aspects such as coverage angles and sound pressure level.

Educational background

Masters students with a large interest in developing their skills within concept development CAD and Audio design.

Mechanical Engineering with Technical Design Mechanical Engineering.
