0593 POSTDOCTORAL CANDIDATE (F/M/D) Redox-Proteomics

We are seeking to hire a proactive and highly motivated post-doc to join our ERC-Project PRIME. Employment is intended to start on February 1 2026 at the Greifswald site.

* (initially) limited to 45 months

* Weekly working time 40 hours

* Remuneration according to TV-L remuneration group 13 (gross salary range depending on professional experience see remuneration table 2025)

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify oxidative changes in proteins and correlate them with biological/immunological cellular responses;
  • Measure oxidized proteins using mass spectrometry and evaluate map and categorize posttranslational modifications;
  • Investigation of various oxidants and cold plasmas and their influence on proteins and their immunogenicity;
  • Develop analysis strategies for large data sets and correlation matrix using programming languages (R Python SQL etc.);
  • Scientific supervision of undergraduate and doctoral students;
  • Exchange and discussion of results within in the team;
  • Analyze interpret and present collected data and prepare scientific publications and third-party funding applications.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • PhD in biology (bio)chemistry bioinformatics or a related field
  • High affinity to data and large-data-driven science as well as strong logical understanding
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and programming languages

  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research into protein mechanisms of action
  • Flexibility in scientific activities in the laboratory and office
  • Problem-solving skills in decoding relations between bioinformatic biochemical and biological data sets
  • High degree of commitment motivation independent work teamwork skills sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) and preferably also German
