Job Summary

Seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer specializing in Industrial Refrigeration and Mechanical Systems for a growing DesignBuild Mechanical Contracting firm in Fort Wayne IN. Ideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of mechanical and refrigeration systems communicate with customers design/provide ideal solution and assemble detailed budget/estimate. Customers are in the Food Processing and Cold Storage Industry.

Mechanical Systems Design Engineer Tasks:

Collaborate with the customers to create detailed design plans and specifications for refrigeration & mechanical systems
Use our estimating software to provide customers with budgets and detailed estimates
Conduct research and analysis to identify the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for refrigeration & mechanical projects
Evaluate existing systems and propose improvements to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability
Develop 2D and 3D design layouts using CAD software
Perform calculations and simulations to ensure the performance and reliability of refrigeration & mechanical systems
Communicate with clients suppliers and contractors to ensure that design requirements are met
Hire subcontractors and order equipment for sold projects
Provide technical support during the installation testing and commissioning of refrigeration & mechanical systems
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in refrigeration technology

Mechanical Systems DesignEngineer Profile Musts:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design preferably in the refrigeration industry
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and other engineering tools
Solid experience assembling detailed budget/estimate
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of refrigeration codes standards and regulations
Eagerness to collaborate in a team environment to continually create maintain and improve program libraries
Understanding of Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Clean driving record
