| Job Description: | Student employees within the Office of Event Services must: - Be a current University of Florida degree seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
- Respond to and assist with emergency situations and building evacuations per department procedures or as instructed by building management staff
- Possess the ability to work weekends evenings holidays and academic breaks as needed
- Provided exceptional customer service to all patrons while maintaining a high level of professionalism that upholds the mission of the Reitz Union
- Demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Establish an exemplary work ethic by being productive self-motivated and dependable
- Participate in all scheduled meetings trainings evaluations and professional development opportunities
- Act as an ambassador for the Reitz Union areas as well as the University of Florida providing accurate information and campus resources
Position Specific Responsibilities: - Complete all training requirements upon being hired in a timely fashion
- Maintain presence as first point of contact to receive phone calls and walk-in clients
- Distribute event diagrams and worksheets
- Review daily building reports and update the reservation database as needed
- Process virtual logins cancellations and room requests
- Create and edit diagrams in Social Tables as directed
- Give tours to prospective clients
- Organize and maintain diagram and event files
- Assist with general office duties such as filing billing special projects and scheduling client appointments
- Assist event planning team with general processing of incoming event requests
- Assists with crowd control and capacity to ensure orderly evacuation in the event of an emergency
- Identifies potential disruptions in event flow before during and after the event
- Other duties as assigned

| Minimum Requirements: | This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) or Federal Work-Study (FWS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week. |

| Preferred Qualifications: | Although no experience is necessary to apply and all training will be provided we would prefer candidates to: - CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to obtain
- Ability to commit to working 10 or more hours per week
- Demonstrate previous experience with customer service
- Proficient with verbal and written communication
- General knowledge of the University and the Reitz Union
