POSITION DESCRIPTION Child Safe Foster Care Job Title: Foster Care Case Manager Team Lead Reports To: Foster Care Supervisor Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Exempt Our Mission: To provide expert comprehensive services in southeastern Michigan that strengthen children adults and families impacted by abuse and neglect autism developmental disabilities and mental health challenges so they are successful in their communities. Job Summary: The Foster Care Team Lead provides case management services to the children in foster care and their families. The Foster Care team lead also assists the Foster Care Supervisor. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Develops and implements a permanency placement plan for each assigned child.
- Participates in required trainings and meetings.
- Assist in orienting and training newly hired staff as a mentor.
- Attend case conferences and court review hearings with workers in training to model and support.
- Assist new staff in learning to navigate and utilize MISACWIS.
- Assists the supervisor and program manager in the development management and quality improvement of the program.
- Assesses needs and finds resources for children and families throughout the program.
- Attends outside meetings for supervisor as needed.
- Assists with late night supervisor coverage as needed.
- Assists with emergency situations by covering shift(s) as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications: - A minimum of two years of experience as a social service worker in a child welfare agency a child caring institution or in an agency performing a child welfare function.
- Knowledge of and experience with Michigan Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (MiSACWIS) required.
- Experience with resource development for children and families in need.
- Use of personal vehicle as needed with mileage reimbursement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide culturally competent services that shows sensitivity to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

Education Certificates Licenses Registrations: - Bachelors degree in a social work or related human services field.
- Must provide documentation of completion of 9-week foster care pre-service training through the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Completion is achieving a passing score.
- Valid Michigan Drivers License appropriate insurance and use of own vehicle.
Working Conditions: - Works in an office environment and in the community as needed.
- Non-traditional hours occur often due to the need for evening and weekend visitation for children and birth parents as well as accommodation of foster parents schedules
- Possible stressful environment working with families and court system.
- Fast paced enthusiastic and team oriented workplace.
