Job Summary

DEPARTMENT: Cage/Club

REPORTS TO: Cage/Club Manager

STATUS: Full Time / Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible in assisting guests with transactions and for balancing bank drawers within the Cage function of the position. Maintain accuracy and abide by cash handling procedures. Will be responsible for promoting membership to our Players Club (Sun Club) and will work with the Marketing Department to understand and endorse all promotions in the Cage/Club Rep position; such as printing Sun Club Cards answering questions directing guests to the Marketing area and other duties as required.

Supervisor

Responsible for ensuring that all accounting activities in the Cage/Club Department are performed accurately and efficiently in accordance with all applicable laws rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission Federal and State Tax Commissions established company policies minimum internal controls as it pertains to the Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino and the Cage/Club department. Responsible for assisting team members and guests with transactions and for balancing various bank drawers within the cage department and maintaining accuracy throughout all phases of the balancing process. Responsible for supervision of the Players Club duties that staff will be required to perform. Responsible to fill/drop ticket kiosks and to fix errors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide exceptional guest service at all times.
  • Accurately counting and balancing of cashier bank. Maintain cashier drawer transaction records and prepare daily cash inventory form.
  • Redemption of video gaming tickets gaming chips and coupons.
  • Maintain impress bank balance through buy/sell from the vault.
  • Case personal checks for currency.
  • Redeem foreign currency computing accurate exchange rates for the various currencies received.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of facilities as well as special events on property in order to advise guests of same whenever possible.
  • Assist in maintaining cage floor security by notifying department supervisors security and surveillance of suspicious activity.
  • Assist other Cashiers within the Cage as needed.
  • Facilitate the flow of information by working with the Marketing Department and attending required informational meetings.
  • Held accountable to a very high degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records reports and Confidentiality.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of our database system to perform duties with the promotional tracking system.
  • Endorse Casino promotions with all guests and prompt new guests to sign up for the players club.
  • Assist each guest through the membership process by inputting guest data into promotional tracking system.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate and thorough departmental records and reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of all casino programs promotions and all elements of casino games.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive and productive attitude at all times with guests and fellow team members.
  • Promote all marketing events in house promotions and other announcements as needed over the microphone system as needed.
  • Assist Cage Manager and Marketing Manager with special projects as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and clear workstation.
  • Responsible for filling dropping and maintaining ticket kiosks.
  • Responsible for stocking promotional items; such as bungee cords club cards and other items for promotional use. Inform Manager when items run low.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisor

  • Work effectively and efficiently with all regulatory agencies i.e. Gaming Commission State and Federal.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the departments Internal Controls. Take initiative to learn new processes as required.
  • Comply with guest service standards and ensure excellent guest service.
  • Monitor team members within the Cage / Club department to ensure guest service standards are being executed.
  • The Supervisor is responsible for all transactions and documentation that flow through the Vault including but not limited to Table Games fills and credits the receipt and distribution of the ATM and ticket redemption kiosk funds gift certificates gift cards revenue banks and buy/Sells from the cashiers cage.
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests and follow up appropriately.
  • Accurately balances assigned banks on scheduled shift.
  • Assist various departments in counting gratuities.
  • Redeem foreign currency computing accurate exchange rates ensuring that it is posted daily.
  • Access funds and ensure prompt distribution to appropriate areas of property.
  • Assist Managers with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepare staff performance evaluations. Coach counsel and share constructive feedback and corrective action for team members as needed.
  • Ensure the integrity of all financial data produced by team members under his/her span of control.
  • Ensure all ATM machines and CEK machines on site are maintained and functional at all times this includes fills.
  • Facilitate the flow of information by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Held accountable to a high degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records reports and confidentiality.
  • Willing and able to work shift work holidays weekends and special events.
  • Proactive and identify problems solutions and team member issues. Follow up with the Cage/Club Manager and the Director of Finance/Assistant General Manager.
  • Hire train supervise and develop all team members in the Players Club. This includes regular consistent and candid feedback to all team members.
  • Responsible for ensuring and maintaining proper procedures are trained and adhered to with regard to all Cage and Players Club duties. This includes encouraging e-mail and phone number collection ensuring data entry guidelines are followed auditing all voids that are processed as well as auditing comp issuance percentages.
  • Execute all approved giveaways and promotions. Ensure that all team members are trained and scheduled appropriately. Ensure that all rules of the promotion are followed as approved.
  • Build and sustain professional relationships with all departments.
  • Assist in the maintenance of promotional tracking system and database.
  • Extensive computer work including but not limited to Player Tracking Word and Excel.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of our database system to perform duties with the promotional tracking system.
  • Research order and monitor stock of supplies for the Players Club.
  • Open and track status of all on-going projects to ensure that all deadlines are met and materials are delivered on time.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the facilities amenities as well as current and upcoming special events/promotions in order to advise guests and other team members. It is the responsibility of the Cage/Club Supervisor to ensure that the Cage/Club staff have the information (hold team meetings and request information from Marketing) and tools needed to effectively perform their position.
  • Assist staff with carrying out promotions and special events.
  • Knowledgeable of all casino events and promotions for communication to our guests.
  • Act as guest service liaison to ensure our guests expectations are exceeded.
  • Ensure effective communication in the Player Development Department in order to maintain a constant flow of information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Some college courses in management Banking and/or Finance or related area preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Six (6) months casino cage operation experience required.
  • Internal candidates must be in good standing and demonstrate excellent guest service skills.
  • Excellent Guest Service skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and guests.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge for data entry.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Effective communication skills required.
  • Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate.
  • Excellent guest service skills are required must have experience working with the public.
  • Willing and able to work shift work holidays weekends and special events.
  • Work proactively by identifying problems and solutions. And following up with applicable department management.
  • Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

While performing the duties of this job the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. You may be subject to secondhand smoke when in the casino environment.

This is a cash-handling position.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein each and every team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Obtain and maintain a License B with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Casinos.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances regulations laws policies and procedures relating to the team members department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
