The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an ambitious qualified professional to manage the Time Computation Unit Supervisors who supervise the Time Computation Unit (TCU). This position is considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sentence calculation methodologies and processes and is responsible for a wide variety of complex time computation functions and administrative tasks. Assists in the preparation of declarations and affidavits for the Arizona Attorney General including testifying in open court regarding sentence structures and ADCRR Time Computation Policies. Reviews analyzes and interprets the laws and policies governing programs and develops polices procedures and standards of work. Reviews and analyzes offender records for accuracy of time computations recalculations and release dates. And responds to correspondence from families legal representatives law enforcement officials and other jurisdictions regarding time computations.
- Provides second-line direct supervision of subordinate staff training work performance evaluations corrective action track record work production and quality levels
- Reviews approves or denies leave requests and accountability of work hours
- Performs a wide variety of audits of a complex nature and assists staff with inquiries when needed to provide clarification on sentencing information
- Reads interprets and understands court documents and applies correct sentence structure for accurate and precise release dates
- Responsible for a wide variety of complex time computation functions and administrative tasks including the generation of professional correspondences and reports
- Receives tracks and responds to inquiries
- Prepares affidavits and other professional written correspondence
- Answers inquiries from judges other law enforcement agencies jurisdictions inmate family members and inmates
- Ensures information provided is accurate and eligible to be released
- Prepares declarations and affidavits for the Arizona Attorney General which may include testifying in open court regarding sentence structures and ADCRR Time Computation policy
- Reviews and analyzes offender records for accuracy of time computations recalculations and release dates
- Prepares agendas and attends unit staff meetings
- Trains and assists in the development of and execution of training of sentence calculation staff other ADCRR staff other law enforcement agencies court probation and county attorney personnel

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
Obtaining the Time Computation Certification through ADCRR by achieving the required passing score of 85% or higher is mandatory for retention in this position.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).
