Job Summary
Reports To: Superintendent of Schools Summary: Management development and oversight of the Westport Community Schools Out of School Time Program. Ensures a safe nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment to all children enrolled. Supervises Program Coordinator and Child Care :*Responsible for the development implementation and supervision of the Out of School Time Program.*Continuous evaluation and monitoring of program activities. *Ensures compliance with federal state and local laws along with the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) health and safety guidelines standards and best practices. *Provides leadership and promotes an environment that is supportive and compassionate to the social and emotional needs of children and their families. Manages all disciplinary issues in an effective but compassionate manner.*Selects developmentally appropriate materials equipment and supplies in support of the program.*When appropriate communicate with classroom teachers and administration.*Works collaboratively with all school staff including but not limited to administrators custodians bus personnel central office and office personnel to ensure smooth program operations.*Maintain an up-to-date roster of program participants and staff to distribute to school administration and nurses.*Maintain accurate records in compliance with state regulations*Communicates frequently with the designated Program Monitor from the Department of Education and Care to comply with all licensing regulations and health and safety guidelines*Proposes and monitors budget.*Maintains tuition accounts and submit all payments to the business office in a timely manner*Submits monthly billing to PACE Child Care Works for reimbursement of families receiving subsidies.*Implements health and first aid policies and procedures and coordinates with school nurses on all health issues.*Recruits hires supervises and evaluates Child Care Staff.*Coordinates staff meetings for informational purposes and solicits staff input and feedback on development of policy procedure and program recommendations.*Provides training and professional development activities for staff.*Responsible for safety training for staff and students.*Coordinates in-service training programs.*Communicates effectively and meets with parents/guardians to address any concerns as needed.*Coordinates and supervises field trips.*Seeks out funding opportunities for the program development.*Administers medications as needed.* Performs other such duties as may be assigned.
